I learned that field biology is not for me but I gained a huge appreciation for field biologists. I loved every minute of it and I still keep in contact with my classmates. I learned all kinds of things about biology. Gabriela S - Trinity University View Entire Review

About
This 4-week program offers you an exciting opportunity for hands-on study of the evolutionary ecology of important plant and animal species in tropical ecosystems. The program emphasizes intensive field work at all three field stations that the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) operates in Costa Rica (La Selva, Las Cruces, and Palo Verde). You will be introduced to a great diversity of tropical habitats, each possessing distinctive plants and animals that, in turn, demonstrate unique evolutionary histories and ecological dynamics. You will work closely with resident professors to design, implement, and interpret your own research project in field ecology. Your independent project will allow you to “learn science by doing science” in a beautiful and challenging tropical setting. You will present your results orally, following the style of a scientific meeting. Your final written research report will become part of the permanent records of the OTS field stations.
