Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The Cambridge Tradition is one i would highly recommend. The amazing people you meet from all over the world makes it such an enriching cultural experience. The town of Cambridge is also relatively small and easy to explore with friends on foot. Living with new friends for a whole month from day to night helped us to bond very quickly. There were also fun activities (e.g golf, discos, tiedying, sundial tours) and guest lectures (e.g 3D printing, shakespeare talks, psychology talks) planned by the coordinators each day which allowed me to learn and experience new things.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My roommate was awesome, and we hung out together a lot. However, people generally made friends on the first day, so by the time they found out who their roommate was at night, they may not be close to them throughout the month. As for me, I walked in with my suitcase when she was on the phone unpacking so we ate dinner together and our friendship group soon formed.

* Food:

Pretty good. Except on Sundays, the breakfast is cold (ie. no warm baked beans, no toast etc.) I would recommend going out to eat. Just remember to get back for staircase meetings (roll call + announcements) on Sundays or you may face detention like me :(

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The highlight of the experience. Cambridge is a lovely town with a strong culture in biking around.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 75 pounds approx.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I recommend you to record your spendings daily, as my roommate spent a lot and ran out of money half way through the month and needed to get some transferred from her parents overseas. Bring extra money for other expenses (I bought a lot at Primark).
