Phenomenal Past Review
By A student (The University of Texas at Austin) - abroad from 09/13/2015 to 12/18/2015 with
Oxford Brookes University: Oxford - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I gained a new sense of independence that I believe I did not have prior to my exchange abroad. I was able to remove myself from what was my norm and allow myself to grow. It was beyond worthwhile. Giving yourself the opportunity to experience a new world teaches loads about yourself and offers you the opportunity to explore and inquire about many different things that would have potentially never crossed your mind.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The amount of rigor and course load was just enough to ensure both a successful transition and academic success from home country to the study abroad program at the host institution. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Charlie Simpson: He was absolutely wonderful, always willing to help and a great resource! |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Clive Booth Hall:- surrounded by a diverse background of other exchange students however chances of rooming with actual students from the UK is slim. (You will most likely meet other UK students outside of the residence halls ( classes, outings, social events, etc.) |

Yes
From the resources offered to you at Brookes, to the wonderful food places, breathtaking scenery Oxford has to offer, and diverse background of people to interact with, there is nothing I would want to have changed. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | ~ 100, sometimes over depending on what particular activities are of interest to you |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Grocery shop with friends, share cooking supplies, cook food, use public transit, eat out less, spend money on the things you actually want to do and not just anything because it makes it difficult to do what you really want later on |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | No |
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Exchange |
