Oxford Study Abroad Programme (OSAP): Oxford - Study Abroad at Oxford University

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I grew both as a person and as a learner. Oxford challenges you to both learn how to structure your studies/day, socialize in a new country, and succeed in a rigorous academic system that demands excellence. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt like I matured.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The Oxford tutorial system was wonderful and allowed me to explore a lot of novel topics with creative approaches and feedback. Your experience will definitely depend on the tutor you get, so there is a bit of variability, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed learning in this focused and personalized manner.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Meet some other visiting students and set up a cooking rotation, where everyone pitches in to buy cutlery/ingredients. It is a lot cheaper than eating out, and can be more affordable than the dining hall (which operates on a pay-as-you-go system) depending on how you eat!

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Academic or Linguist
You went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you!
