Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

really hard, academically, but you get used to it and it becomes the norm.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

good! college staff always open to talk if you reach out to them

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

great -- had a single the size of the double I live in at Barnard

* Food:

it's British food! enough said. but really, there is plenty of food just not very good.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

lived in same housing as freshman at oxford, so got to know them and do what they did!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

not very easy! the pound is very expensive, as is the city of oxford. save up a lot before going to oxford.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? probably about 50-70 pounds, about 80-110 dollars
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? follow typical money saving rules! make coffee in your room, don't go out for food all the time, try to bring the minimum amount of cash out at night so you dont spend too much at clubs.
