The number one thing is when you are traveling oversea make sure you be at the airport atleast 3 hours early!!! I learn that the hard way and have to rebuy my ticket! lost a couple grand (thousand) could of spend somewhere fun with that in Japan. Yeah it's definitley worth it, the program is very cheap, and this program really in a way change the way you look at the world, and I really rally mean that.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
This was very fun learning Japanese in Japan. You get to experience the culture and be around with all Japanese people. The best way to learn a language. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
They people are really friendly and some of them are really clowning. I like the fact that the trips are planned and they take you all the cool spot around that area. (somewhat) |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Its was o.k but one day I left the window open and a tiny little green frog jump on my face while I was sleeping. I woke up and killed it. Turned out 2 more was in my room. The crazy part was I was in the second floor. And oh yeah the housing I was at, I have to share a 2 feet fridge with like 20 other people, that really sucked. |
* Food: |
You have to try the food outside the school. Japan have bunch of crazy restaurant, you should try it all. Try the place call SHUSHI ROLL in myazaki, that place have like converter belt all around the store and you press a button and a shushi will appear infront of you. Its kinda funny but I STRONGLY RECOMMANDED. And what the hell, you in Japan you gotta try the authentic shushi. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I'm very outgoing so I talk to everybody, but I never taken any Japanese so most of the time what i said is straight jibberish, but it seem like they understand me, so it works. Knowing english helps too. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I really didnt get sick and beside Miyazaki is actually a hospital too. And the place i was staying at, threre were a hospital behind it. |
* Safety: |
The people there are harmless, even the cops most of them dont ever carry guns. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Im a big spender, so I be spending atleast 300-400 on food. I always went somewhere to eat every meal. I used the taxi a lot to go where i want to on my free time and thats like 100- 150 a week. and i spend a bunch on shopping. Idk but i spend like over 3,000 dollar when i was there. but hey how often can you go to japan. |
