Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The classes were the perfect amount of rigor and intensity, slightly easier than US universities, but in a good way. They focus on the learning experience. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Pretty hands-off but I knew where to go if i needed anything. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Dormitories were not the best. It has everything you need but missing key features that would make the living experience better. Like common rooms, tv rooms, study rooms etc. |
* Food: |
I didn't eat on campus, theres really only one dining hall, not the most accessible. I made or bought my own food everyday. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I felt quite integrated, but then again its not too different from the US in the first place. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I didn't have any health concerns throughout so i cant speak to this. All i know is they do not have an on campus health clinic or resources at all. You have to go to the emergency room or book an appt ahead of time at an outside clinic. |
* Safety: |
Pretty safe area with a lot of people, but you have to stay alert at night of course. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Not easy at all, very expensive city. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |
