Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The biggest problem for me was that I was not sufficiently challenged by my courses. Perhaps this is a result of larger class sizes, but the most difficult aspect of academics what knowing the proper protocol for writing and submitting assignments. Although I took a course that was introductory, I was exposed to upper level courses and courses to which I did not have solid prerequisites as well.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The strength of the program is that it allows you plenty of time and opportunity for exploration and travel. I was able to make great new relationships and travel around Europe with friends. The program hosted many social events that were wonderful opportunities to meet more people. The downside of the program was it's lack of academic rigor compared to Wellesley College.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The accommodations were fine. I lived in a dorm/flat with four other students. We had nice cleaning service and the rooms were plenty spacious. I did wish that the college provided an easy way to rent or use cooking supplies - these were expensive to buy and frustrating to have to leave behind after only 5 months.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I really enjoyed the events for study abroad students and also the spring fair that was set up near the library.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt very safe in the campus. The surrounding area is not the safest to walk alone at night, but as soon as you come on campus grounds the police and lighting make any time of night an easy walk.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Direct Enrollment

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? i think the type of student that would like this program best is one who is able to go out and find their own adventure. The student should be excited and comfortable traveling abroad since Queen Mary gives you ample opportunity to take time to travel.
