What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I had one of the best study abroad experiences. I made great friends, and was able to travel all throughout Europe. I loved London, and had an amazing time night and day there. I look forward to the chance to be able to return-hopefully sometime soon!

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was very light. Since the classes were not difficult, it allowed for more time to be spent exploring the city, and traveling to new places

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The faculty were fairly accessible, and knowledgeable about the country.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

All furniture was new. Clean sheets were provided on a weekly basis. Dorm was located in the same building as the cafeteria, and classrooms, so it was very convenient.

* Food:

The food was not good. I mainly lived off of french fries and green beans, since the main dishes were not appetizing. The sandwich shop, and restaurant were good alternatives to the poor food at the cafeteria. However, the sandwich shop and restaurant were only open when the full time students were there.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The program did a good job of setting up day trips, and weekend trips to different places. The field trips allocated free time for you to go explore the towns/cities on your own.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I did not have any incidences where I needed healthcare. The college was very secure, and only allowed for students to enter the building. I always felt safe, my entire time in England.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Location of the School
* What could be improved?
  • Food
  • They could work on connecting the study abroad students with the full time students
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would definitely recommend studying abroad in London. Regent's college was in a perfect location-right next to the Baker Street Tube stop, and located in a beautiful park. The food at the school was terrible. The full time Regent's College students were not welcoming to any of the Americans. Since the Regent's students were not welcoming, the Americans only socialized with each other
