LIFE-CHANGING Past Review

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I can not even explain how amazing I thought my study abroad program was, there was not a thing I would take back. If I could do it all over again I would do it in a heartbeat. I learned so many new things about myself and other cultures. It sounds so cliche when people say they've "changed," but now I totally understand it. I didn't come back the same person I was before and it was all for the better.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? BUDGET, plan out what you want to do sightseeing and traveling wise and don't spend on things that you don't really need obviously. Just being smart with your money is the only way. If you are given a meal plan, use it even if you don't like the food that much - that's money you need to spend or you'll lose it.

The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
