Regent’s University London: Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned so much about the world, myself, and others. Living in a new country and travelling to many others really opens your eyes and you understand so much more of the world. It's also made me fall in love with London and I plan on moving there in the coming years.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I liked most of my classes but teachers graded very hard.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They honestly weren't very helpful at all, I had to be annoyingly persistent to make any changes

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Not even remotely. After a while they just seemed to stop caring about my horrid living situation. I just received apologies but no change.

* Food:

it was actually fairly great! Some people complained it was bad; but honestly I thought there were great options and I enjoyed most meals

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I felt so accustomed to my environment, as if I should've been there all along.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I personally didn't have any problems but friends of mine who did were helped very quickly and easily.

* Safety:

It is a big city but I felt very safe in London and on campus.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

London is a very expensive city, considered the most expensive in the world.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I'd assum between 170-300 a week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Walking is a big money saver as well as taking the buses. The Tube is much more expensive then the buses. Go food shopping more often and buy less food, it spoils much quicker in the UK because it's less processed.
