My experience was what I made of it Past Review
By A student (Marketing., Fairfield University) - abroad from 08/27/2014 to 12/13/2014 with
Regent’s University London: Direct Enrollment & Exchange
The best parts of my experience had nothing to do with the program in which I was enrolled. It was the traveling around Europe and exploring London that made my experience worthwhile. I have learned that a lot of things do not go according to the original plan, but you need to take a step back and decide how you are going to fix things and move on.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Fairfield University and the professors at my school expect a lot more from me than Regent's University did. I had about three assignments in each class for the entire semester, and since I was receiving a transfer credit I felt as if I did not have to try very hard. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I felt like a freshman again. I was placed in a dorm that was isolated from the rest of the student body. |
* Food: |
There was only one option per meal, usually consisting of lamb. It was not accommodating to students of other cultures. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I feel as if I had minimal interaction with the British. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
n/a |
* Safety: |
I never once felt as if I was in danger. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
The dining hall was closed on Saturday nights, and nobody had informed me of this before I went. I had to spend money on dinner every saturday night, and the food was so terrible that I often ate out because I could not eat what was offered. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 300 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Save as much as you can. |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish I knew more about the school, because I honestly thought it was a waste of my time. If I knew what I know now about Regent's, I would have chosen another location. |
