International exposure you just can't beat! Past Review
By A student (Marketing., Nichols College) - abroad from 08/26/2014 to 12/12/2014 with
Regent’s University London: Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I learned that you just have to live in the moment and not worry about how much something costs or how much time you have left because you might miss out on something you will regret later on.
Personal Information
How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 0-2 weeks |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I think that it was a good experience to see how courses work in another country. It was confusing at first to get barely any assignments, but, much to my surprise, I still got the same amount of knowledge out of it. There were only a few issues I had with certain projects with certain professors, but taking away from that it was a great experience overall. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I would just like to say that the cleaning staff took really great care of the bathrooms on the third floor and we were lucky to have them because that is one thing that can really ruin a person's experience. |
* Food: |
The refectory's food wasn't the greatest mainly because there weren't many options to choose from. I think that the deli should be open for lunch and dinner to give more options at dinner time. I found myself going down to the student bar for dinner a lot during the last month I was there because the refectory wasn't even an option anymore. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I feel like I am still trying to get myself to stop saying local words from London. I really tried to immerse myself in the culture and it definitely worked! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I didn't have any health problems |
* Safety: |
I felt very safe being on campus due to the regulations set in place. I felt comfortable to walk around and didn't feel like I was in a foreign place, but in a place I could feel at home. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $50 at most |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Make a budget for yourself and really stick to it. It is the only way that you are going to be able to save money but still have fun. If you don't spend all your money during one week, roll it over to the next or save it for extra spending money when you go on a trip. |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
