Regent’s University London: Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned about myself! I found people who are now desperately important to me. It encouraged my interest in travel and confidence in my choices. Definitely worthwhile.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? None

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I never interacted with the Regent's Administration

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I loved living in Reid Hall! I also enjoyed the support from William Carbury and Jonathon Dempsey at the front desk.

* Food:

I was used to UNH dining which is unreal and one of the top in the country. Regents had a great breakfast but didn't have as many options for dinner. I was very thankful for their deli at lunch, the brasserie, and student bar for burgers.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I didn't really make any British friends but the friends that I made in the American college at Regent's were really into exploring London and I felt like I integrated with local culture at a space that wasn't super touristy but not local either.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I did not have experiences with Health Care while I was abroad.

* Safety:

I loved how Regent's was private in the park and how it was gated with a security system to enter the building and Reid Hall where I lived. Also living in Zone 1 in London was completely safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? We had a meal plan so I only had to buy 1 meal out a week and then maybe about $30 on nightlife.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you're into going out to the bar don't buy all of your drinks out. You can drink before hand the save money. Only buy the essentials for clothes and toiletries. Save your money for travel and meaningful souvenirs!
