I gained a group of best friends that will be in my wedding party. I gained an understanding of the world around me. I gained social skills and confidence. I learned how to fall in love with the world.

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 2 weeks - 1 month |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Depending on your major, it was very difficult in midterm and finals week. They put all of the work in those two weeks and it's very overwhelming. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Administration wasn't helpful, they don't care much about students. The security guards were also very rude to the students on many, many occasions. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Laundry is expensive, bathrooms were always broken, security wasn't a good help at all. They do have clean sheets two times a week which was nice. The campus is also beautiful in itself. |
* Food: |
They always had options for vegetarians, but it was never good and barely healthy. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Living right in central London, and in regents park, you immediately feel as though you've been living there for years. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
University was absolutely no help. You have to find a doctor on your own. The university was seriously flawed in this. |
* Safety: |
Pretty good with safety and strict with ID's and times. However, no warning emails when out from regents when Paris attacks happened and when there was a possible bomb on Baker St. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $100 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Save up as much as you can and don't spend money on silly things like tourist souvenirs. Spend your money on traveling and book traveling in advance and make sure you book on hostel world. |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | No |
