A must do once in a lifetime opportunity! Past Review
By A student (University of Hartford) - abroad from 01/12/2016 to 04/30/2016 with
Regent’s University London: Direct Enrollment & Exchange
Totally worthwhile, I learned that people make the trip not the place. All places that I traveled to were interesting beautiful and unique. The trips the I took and had the best memories were because of the people that I went with. Culture might change but its the people the you go through the experience with that make the trip.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
teaching style was completely different |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
study abroad staff (inbound) was very helpful |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
great location right in the middle of London |
* Food: |
Terrible, I'm surprised that they could get away with serving food with that low of a quality standard, one of the only negatives of the experience. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Regent's was almost all students from other countries other than the UK, so I made no friends from the host country and had no students from the UK in my classes. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
didn't have any. |
* Safety: |
London felt very safe, the campus at school was also very secure utilizing a badge system for every building. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I would go back the regents although it would not be the same. I made great friends from other schools in the states and they wouldn't be there. Not to say that the experience still wouldn't be great but if I studied abroad again I would probably want to try something new. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Depends what you want to do, the exchange rate to the pound is terrible but eventually you just give up on trying to be frugal. Traveling on the weekends doesn't help saving money either. I learned towards the end its the people and the experiences that make the trip, worrying about money if possible should come second. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 200 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Give up on saving money abroad its not going to happen, you should enjoy yourself and worry about the money later if possible. You don't want to be that person that is cheap, there is a fine line between cheap and economically savvy. |

|
* What could be improved? |

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | People that are going through a common experience is a starting point for conversation. Take time to explore your host country/city by yourself its good to know the lay of the land. |
