Regent’s University London: Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I learned a lot about myself and what i want to do after i graduate college. It made me learn things about myself that i did not even know because i was thrown into a culture that i have never been before. I have gained new friends from all over the world as well gained so many new knowledge that i did not know before. My study abroad experience is something i will always talk about and bring up amazing memories that i made there to my friends at home. If you have the opportunity to study abroad i highly recommend it.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The courses were defiantly harder and different learning techniques then America. You would only get one exam and that would be at the end of the class term verses in American we can get 4 test in a semester. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administration was very helpful. We had a week of orientation and were really welcomed into the program and the school. They are there if you have any questions as well problems with your schedule or housing. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The courses were defiantly harder and different learning techniques then America. You would only get one exam and that would be at the end of the class term verses in American we can get 4 test in a semester. |
* Food: |
The cafeteria was very good. It was good options, especially for breakfast. They did not have many options for people who have food allergies but if you tell them ahead of time they will accommodate for you. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The culture was defiantly a shock for me but after about 2-3 weeks you start to get a daily routine and do not feel so out of place when you first get there. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I ended up getting sick and i went to the local urgent care right down the street on Baker St. and it was kinda of costly but the staff was very nice and saw me quickly. |
* Safety: |
Safety was a big part that i was worried about. Being in London for 4 months I never felt unsafe. I would adventure around London by myself and take the tube and always felt safe. There are cops that walk the streets and the city alone people are very polite. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I loved Regents University. The school was located in a great location of London. I loved the way the classes were done and what i took. Regents welcomes you with open arms and you are able to get such a great study abroad experience because of it. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
I would say it depends on what you plan on doing and how much you would spend on food and not eat in the cafe that they provide a meal plan for. Also if you were to travel to other countries etc. I would say if you are not a big spender but maybe the weekends you want to go out and explore the beautiful city of London 100-150 dollars a week would be fine. Also remember the current exchange! 100-150 dollars is probably equivalent to 75-100 pounds. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | In the begging of my study abroad experience i was going out and spending to much money on food. But once you learn how much things cost in London you start to budget your money accordingly. I would averagely spend around 50 pounds a week, which is probably around 75 dollars. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I would take out a sum of cash of pounds before i went to London so when i got there i had pounds already. What i did to budget my money over the 4 months was limit myself to a certain amount of money to spend a week. I would separate it into sections of my wallet and only spend that section. |

|

|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish i knew that there are so many people all over the world trying to accomplish the same goals. I studied theatre at Regents and i met so many people from across the world that want to act in movies and do a similar field. Also i learned that the world is such a beautiful place and i wish i knew the different cultures before in my life because they have made me into who i am today. |
