The Past and Present Past Review
By A student (Millsaps College) - abroad from 06/30/2013 to 08/06/2013 with
Rhodes College: Oxford - British Studies at Oxford
What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained a sense of self, the ability to travel alone and know who I was without my friends from home. I traveled to York for the day by myself and put myself in uncomfortable situations like meeting new people in a new place. I learned about a culture that is part of my heritage while experiencing the nation's present.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | If you have a big trip you want to make, plan it ahead of time if you have friends going. Generally hotels are cheaper and Europe has a lot of big summer events which raise the prices of travel and lodgings. Also, Bed and Breakfasts are cheap and a great experience to check out. |
