Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The strength is that you have a counselor in both your home and your host countries, which helps when you're dealing with certain issues. The only weakness I saw was that my local Rotary club in Brazil wasn't very involved. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
At first everything was different and I lived off of peanut butter I had brought, but eventually I came to like it. Unfortunately, my body didn't digest it well, so I had to eat Activia regularly. With that, I was able to enjoy the native foods. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I learned something new everyday and pushed myself to accept almost every invitation just for the new experiences. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

Language
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Having an open mind is the best thing to do. People think and do things differently, and it's important to know that it's just 'different' not 'wrong' or 'right'. |
