Anglo Adventures: Living London to the Fullest Past Review
By A student (Neurobiology and Neurosciences., Trinity University) - abroad from 01/04/2012 to 05/02/2012 with
Royal Holloway, University of London: London - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
I learned that other countries aren't just places to be visited and explored, but that other cultures can be integrated into my personal experience and become a part of who I am. Traveling doesn't just provide voyeuristic opportunities, or chances for vacation; it opens up the possibility of living in different places and in different ways.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administration was very warm and welcoming, but because of poor scheduling and communication on their part before I came, I had to change one of the courses I was planning on taking upon arrival, and I found out when I arrived that a course I had been planning on taking for credit - for my major - I would not be able to receive credit for. |

|
Finances

* Was food included in your program cost? | No |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $100-$150 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | If you're in an area where you can get a local grocery club card, or a transportation card, definitely take advantage of that to save money on food and transport - two of my biggest factors. |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish I'd known that I wasn't going to be able to get credit for my major as was intimated to me, and I wish I'd known that getting involved on campus to make local friends - as I tried to do - would effectively preclude getting the full study abroad experience. (Ex. I auditioned for and was going to get involved in a campus play, but the rehearsal schedule meant I would have missed lots of weekend trips planned by both the study abroad programs and friends.) |
Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
