About
Study Health Sciences in Rome, the Eternal City!
SAI students who study at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Cattolica) in Rome will experience a contemporary education in the heart of the dynamic and vibrant city of Rome. SAI’s 4 week summer programs at UCSC allow health science students to enroll in two back-to-back 2 week courses for a total of 6 credits. Cattolica’s Rome campus was founded in 1960 and is home to the School of Medicine and Surgery, which is affiliated with the acclaimed Policlinico Gemelli University Hospital. This gives health science students access to a world-class hospital. Students benefit from access to internationally acclaimed experts in their field, including an impressive 43 Faculty members listed among the top Italian Scientists.
In addition to supporting students throughout their stay in Rome, SAI’s on site staff also coordinates a range of activities and excursions throughout the term, including a walking tour of Rome, a visit to the Colosseum by night, a wine tasting excursion, and much more. SAI oversees and coordinates all aspects of student enrollment, including application processing, course selection and credit, visa advising, housing, student health insurance, and transcripts. In addition, SAI provides comprehensive student services, from the moment of application, through the on-site experience, until students return home.
SAI students in Rome experience the overlapping cultural currents which flow through this ancient city; from its origins as a small settlement on the banks of the Tiber, to its modern status as one of the world’s most important cultural and political capitals.
