Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I don't think this class was intensive or anything that took a lot of time, which I enjoyed because that meant we got to focus more on our excursions |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Everyone was very accommodating and helpful when we had issues with our apartments |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
At first we got put into a two bedroom place with two beds for four people. We then had to move to a bigger apartment which had very little wi-fi for four people to do schoolwork. |
* Food: |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I liked how free we were to do our own things |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I definitely think it was much safer when I got here than I was told beforehand. I didn't think I needed to watch over my bag the whole time I was in Sorrento. The surrounding areas like downtown Naples I did feel a little unsafe, especially with all of the guards. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I would choose this one because of the freedom we were given to make the most out of Sorrento ourselves. I felt like I was exploring what I wanted, and meeting the people and really getting to know them. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Not very easily! I spent a lot more money on food here than I thought I would. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $250 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Not eating out every single night, only go to the bars and clubs a few times throughout the trip |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | No |
