Review Your Program
|
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Since all of the students were American, the classes included out-of-the-classroom learning and all based on Austria. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The administrator in charge of student affairs was very helpful and nice. |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Living with a host family was a great experience. My host mother cooked me hot authentic meals daily and was a great source of advice and support.

Some people were a ten minute walk from school, while others were a 15 minute bus ride. |
| * Food: |
Breakfast and dinner are provided for at home, while lunch is served at school by a cook. She makes a variety of delicious meals everyday. |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Salzburg is a small city so there isn't a tremendous nightlife, but the locals were are generally friendly, so everynight was different and fun. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
| * Safety: |
|
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Since meals were included in tuition, I only spent money on extra food and traveling etc. I think I spent about 2000 dollars the whole semester. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Laundry fees and bus fares are required extra fees. |
Language
| How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | Intermediate |
| Language acquisition improvement? |
I used German when I could, but the dialect in Salzburg is not "high German", so it was often easier to just speak English. |
