What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was definitely worthwhile. A very good experience led by excellent professors. A well designed course that is pretty much exactly what you'd hope it would be.

Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Summer 2009

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The Program in general was well balanced in nearly every facet. I can't think of any complaints as far as academics go, and I feel the Program accomplished what it sets out to accomplish.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We stayed in a hotel. It was nice.

I don't think anyone on the trip could complain with the housing.

* Food:

It was awesome. Really great food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Really great. The program didn't force anything on you, and you were free to do pretty much whatever. It was really relaxed.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Be careful with your money, and conservative with your spending. The exchange rates hurt more than you think, and watch for hidden fees in transactions.

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Beginner
Language acquisition improvement?

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Anyone would love it, I think. I don't know of anyone in the program that regretted the experience. If you don't benefit from it, it's your own fault for not taking advantage of a fantastic opportunity. Everything you need for a great time and beneficial, maturing experience is handed to you by the Program. You just have to use what they give you. If they don't have something, it wasn't really necessary.
