Sant'Anna Institute: Sorrento - Live, Learn and Immerse in Italy

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I really enjoyed being a part of an Italian family for a few months. Living with my host family was the best part of my time abroad and it also seriously helped me improve my language skills.

Had some stomach problems while abroad. The pharmacy was helping in giving me medication and the doctor I ended up visiting was very nice and helpful as well.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

If I studied abroad again, I would like to live in a bigger city. However, I loved the host family I lived with in Sorrento and would absolutely live with them again in a heartbeat.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Living with a host family definitely helped me cut costs in terms of food and drink. Of course, this is paid for up front, however, I do believe I probably would have ended up paying more money in the long run if I had not lived with a host family and had to pay for all of my own meals.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Some weeks I spent less than 20 euros, other weeks I occasionally spent up to 100 euros. I just depends on whether I went shopping or went out for meals and drinks more than usual.
