Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Sorrento Lingue was amazing. I took a conversation course so we just talked in class about everyday things. We watched movies and read articles. It was not a lot of work and it was very fun.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The school was great. They had internet which was great but it was off sometimes which got difficult to deal with. The facilities were really clean and we were able to get a lot done at the school.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Our host family was amazing. They treated us really well, always cleaned our room and cooked us huge meals. The apartment was large and very clean. The apartment was in a different town than the school and the nitelife so it was a 30 min walk but we did not mind because we had the best family.

* Food:

I am a vegetarian and she was always great about accommodating me. For lunch all the students would go out together and try out different restaurants.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

All our our excursion were amazing. Especially Pompeii because afterwards we all climbed mt. vesuvius.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

No one on our trip went to the doctor but some people got a little sick towards the end. Sorrento is very safe but sometimes if we walked home later than 1:30 am the men would stop their cars and try to talk to us.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

We practiced with our host family and in class. A lot of people spoke English but not everyone. The shop owners did not always speak English.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? This program was amazing and i would definitely recommend it. Sorrento is in southern Italy so if you are looking to go anywhere in the north that could be a problem. There are bars but people dont stay out too late. Most people/tourists go back home by 12:30
