A First Hand Exposure to European Theatre! Past Review
By akhanna (Middlebury College) - abroad from 01/08/2016 to 04/16/2016 with
Sarah Lawrence College: London - London Theatre Program
Independence, self confidence in my acting abilities, improved my communication skills, pushed me to not be scared of the unknown, to take a leap of faith and more importantly convinced me that theatre is the right path for me. YES it was worthwhile!

Should have been more informed regarding International student visa attainment for the UK. International students need more time to get their UK visas so perhaps the application deadline can be pushed a pushed earlier or acceptance decision provided earlier to international student to give them more time to apply for their visa so it is not a rushed process. |

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I am so GLAD I went. The Middlebury Theatre department does not offer the same opportunities of exploring acting as BADA gives its students, so its definitely worth it for any Theatre Major. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Not only is the program very expensive but the general living expenses are very high. The semester at BADA is more expensive than a semester at Middlebury making it very difficult to live on a student's budget. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 40-50 pounds |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Yes keep an excel sheet for when you go abroad, specially in the UK as it is a great way to track your expenses. Try identifying the cheap grocery stores to get your basics and only go to the slightly high end stores for specific foods that you want. Try to pack your own lunch rather than buy it at the canteen or in the area. Do NOT purchase the student oyster card as that is 20pounds. The general Oyster card that is 10 pounds provides you with the same benefits. Try and save money for travelling around the UK and on shows. |

Comments: | A fantastic improv class that broke everyone out of their shell. It was emotionally and physically challenging to let loose and shed all inhibitions in this class but Mick was a friendly and comforting presence who always encouraged us to go further. Nothing we did as wrong, There was always room for improvement. |
