Rigorous training, fantastic experiences and lifelong memories! January 05, 2022

Sarah Lawrence College: London - London Theatre Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I was able to take many challenging and enriching acting courses my home school does not offer. I found excellent training at BADA with professionals who have made a name for themselves in this industry and I was given feedback which will help me through my entire career. I also made friends from other American universities and saw more theater on the West End than I've ever seen on Broadway - plus I got the experience of living by myself and cooking for myself in a big beautiful city! I also had opportunities to travel to Scotland and Oxford, so I was able to see other parts of the UK as well. I found the program extremely worthwhile!

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Courses were intimate and excellent opportunities to grow as a performer!
  • Loved the weekly opportunities to see theater and talk to cast members about working in the industry!
  • Amazing experience of working on a show all day, every day, without additional classes.
* What could be improved?
  • Covid control needs to be more effective.
  • If food were offered at the school, it would save the students time and money.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? You will spend more money than you think you will! I also used to think that spending money on experiences (vs. objects or things) was silly and frivolous, and I don't think that anymore. I will forever treasure the experiences I had in this program.
