Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Nick and Susan together provided the bare minimum in integrating Sarah Lawrence students into the Wadham community and in resolving conflicts between students and tutors. I was neither impress nor disappointed by the efforts made by our program directors, however, I can say that I expected more dedicated mentors while abroad considering the high cost of tuition.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Merifield was great! Only thing preventing 5 stars was the distance from college.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

ADHD medication I am prescribed in the US was not subsidized by neither NHS nor international student health care provider so it was very expensive for me to purchase every month. But that's the nature of heavily regulated medication while abroad.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $250/week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Eat at home as much as possible or top up your bod card and eat at college as much as possible.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • True university atmosphere
  • Merifield
* What could be improved?
  • Most meals included in cost of attendance
  • Program directors should be replaced
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? A year abroad is a very long time and students who intend on enrolling in a year long program should schedule at least one visit home within that year. I was surprised by how homesick I became over the holidays in England.
