Fun City not so fun program Past Review
By A student (Wellesley College) - abroad from 01/21/2019 to 05/06/2019 with
Sciences Po: Paris - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
Met people from all over the world and improved my French. Explored Europe. Is definitely worth it.
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The academics are not as hard. Professors usually have another real job so they are only accessible through email but not office/in person except for classes. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The exam schedule comes out really late, which makes it hard to plan for the end. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Lived in homestay through third-party website. Pretty good. |
* Food: |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
A bit segregated and hard to get to know local students if you're in the English track. Clubs are hard to join if you're there only for the second semester. But was able to meet a lot of other international students and Paris is a great city to live in. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
Direct Enrollment/Exchange
* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? | Exchange |
