Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was large and the expectations very high, but it was refreshing to be around students who are very knowledgeable and attentive during class. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I had a very bad housing situation at the beginning. I was subletting a room in another student's apartment. He was kind at first but soon become very possessive and jealous, and then kicked me out of the apartment when I had a date over for dinner. He threw my things around the apartment and just went kind of mental. I had no resources to turn to and was homeless for 15 days, sleeping on friends couches until I managed to transfer enough money on my bank account to put down a large deposit for a new studio by myself. It would have helped to have some sort of renter protection. |
* Food: |
Nobody should come back from France with anything but a five star rating for the cuisine. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Go on the school sponsored trips and to the parties. I'm not big on school sponsored events in the US, but they are TONS of fun in France and it's a great (and relatively cheap) way to meet other students and try fun things. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Life in general is expensive in Paris. Just be aware of it before going. |
