What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?

I know that one day I will return to the ocean - I hope to sail again soon. I'm currently in medical school - working in the fast-pace environment of the ship with my fellow classmates prepared me well to work in teams back on land - sailing really tests you, you get to find out what you're really made of

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.	While on shore, the professors at SEA were all amazing, they really challenged me - and they would come over to our house and grill with us! In addition, having WHOI right down the road was a huge plus - we met all sorts of very inspirational scientists and policy makers. On ship - well it was the most intense six weeks of my life! I have never learned so much so quickly.
* Host Country Program Administration On-site administration of your program
* Housing: How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?
* Food:	3 meals + 3 snacks a day on board - food was amazing!
* Social & Cultural Integration: How integrated did you feel with the local culture?	We spent christmas in Nuku Hiva (a small island in French Polynesia) - it was beautiful! Meeting the islanders was great.
* Health Care: How well were health issues addressed during the program?
* Safety:	the SEA crew did a phenomenal job involving us in safety drills while on ship. the safety & survival gear was all up to date - SEA does not cut any corners here.
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program?	Yes
