Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The professors were very up front with the amount of work that was going to be given throughout the course. There was a lot of work, but since your three professors are working with only your class they understand when each of the classes have their heaviest time and can alter their work load so that it evens out over the six weeks. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The program is very small, so anyone that your need to find to get answers to questions about financial aid or transfer credit is always around. All the staff are happy to help you regardless of their position. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
We lived in houses for the first six weeks on land. The houses were a great way to get to know the other people in the program. They also created a really homey feel since we had to cook dinner together. |
* Food: |
At the beginning of the week, we are given gift cards to the local supermarket, so we were able to get any type of food that was wanted. There was plenty of money to get food for cookouts and all three meals. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The whole trip was memorable, so it is hard to define one |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Safety was a huge part of sailing. At any point in time, if anything was unsafe, we were told about and how to fix it. It was very comforting to know that the mates and scientists were looking out for us, as well as the students looking out for eachother. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
