Semester at Sea Study Abroad: Make the World Your Campus

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained so much more knowledge of other cultures in a fun, safe environment.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 2 weeks - 1 month

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The class everyone takes is kind of a waste of time.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The community on the ship had a "party" dynamic during the summer. I would do a different semester if I could do the program again and avoid the summer voyage.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

You eat a lot of the same things on the ship but it is not awful.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Outdoor activities are the best. Go to museums but don't neglect nature experiences.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt safe in every country. Just use your head.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
