It's tough to integrate well with only 5 days in each country. But you do get to experience 10 countries versus 1

Great onbaord doctor and nursing staff

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

The in-country trips can be expensive, but are well worth it. They are also 100% optional

  • Taking oceanography while living on the ocean? So cool
* What could be improved?
  • The food on the ship isn't always great. But there's lots of peanut butter and taco night is awesome
  • The ship is somewhat strict about what you can and can't bring onboard - no alcohol, though they give it to you from the bar, and no hookas etc
  • On the final day everyone is so sad to leave. Lots of tears and long hugs
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I knew how much the trip would mean to me beforehand. It made such a great impact on my life. It's been 5 years since I went and I literally still see the friends I made on a regular basis.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
