I loved the homestay experience. It was the best part of my time in Argentina. |

Just don't walk around with your iPhone out. Don't walk around alone at night. Be aware of catcalling. Be street smart and you'll be okay. |

Yes
I did have problems with the program, but overall, I felt like I got a lot from it. I formed a close relationship with my host mom that will last well into the future, and the independent study project taught me a lot about what I'm interested in and how to work independently. I also learned a lot about Argentine culture. |

We had a stipend which made it easier. Plus, the host families made 2 meals a day for us. |

They made us use the language with them and wanted us to use it all the time, but there was only so much they could do to push us to speak Spanish when we were more comfortable with English. The homestay was a big component in forcing me to speak Spanish for long periods of time. |
