By A student (Brandeis University) - abroad from 08/28/2018 to 12/10/2018 with
SIT Study Abroad: Argentina - Social Movements and Human Rights
It was a great experience that gave me a much more global perspective that we learn in the US and allowed me to continue my studies of labor movements abroad.
Personal Information

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The classes were often large and therefore difficult to understand everything in a second language. The subject matter was very good. And the experiential component was great. The Spanish classes could have been better. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The team of program directors were wonderful, smart, and welcoming. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I really enjoyed my homestay experience. It was a wonderful way to learn the language and culture. |
* Food: |
The food in Argentina isn't to die for but that doesn't really matter. The culture is still very rich. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Because I was with a group of students from the US it was difficult to really integrate but my host family helped with that. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
It is generally safe, the program does a good job of preparing students to deal with petty crime. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |
