What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained so many new friends and took hold of the Icelandic saying that everything works out in the end.

Everyone was very helpful and always there if someone needed help.

There was always food. You never went hungry and they were always careful with food allergies.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I did not get sick but the administration was prepared in case anything happened.

* Safety:

I never felt unsafe. Everyone was friendly and nice.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

Iceland is expensive so you have to manage your money carefully. But you can always find places with cheap good food.

Icelandic classes were intense but fun. I really learned a lot in a short amount of time.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Take a smaller size suitcase. You will have to move it around a lot.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
