Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
the administration varies by country, and there are strengths and weaknesses in each country. But it was always a very full and informative program. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |

* Safety: |
At the beginning of each country, there's a safety orientation, and basically, listen to most of that they have to say, because they know what they're talking about. Also, before we leave the first city (the US city - which, for me, was Detroit), we have a few safety talks. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Varied by country, but basically - two meals a day are covered by IHP, the rest is on you. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | talk to alumns before budgeting, everyone will give different things they think yu should budget in. |

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |

Comments: | This is really a lot of what IHP is about. You pick a topic in which you're interested and follow it through each city. You find how your topic manifests itself in each city, and tehre is a very strong observation component. You are assigned a faculty adviser, but you can go to any faculty or country coordinator, or really any one else, for help and advice. |
