I learned a lot about different cultures in South Africa and learned how to be more flexible with change.

Program helped students get to and from doctor's appointments.

* Safety:

Make sure you keep all valuables close or leave them at home. It is a big city where it is easy to get pick-pocketed, especially if your phone or money is visible.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

There were some ups and downs but I had a great time abroad.

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Very little because the program paid for most food and transportation
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? The program gave us money for food, but this money can also be used for other expenses especially if you stay under the food budget.
