You really learn how to fend for yourself. Wellesley is so wonderfully helpful and kind to its students, while SOAS really is not. I had a great time meeting new friends, learning London and traveling Europe. In general, it was a terrific experience. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned how to teach myself, as learning was very personal, not interactive, at SOAS. I learned how to take advantage of the city I was in and all it had to offer.I learned how to travel effectively and use the knowledge I gained in my studies elsewhere. I learned how to deal with difficult people to live with. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

ABSOLUTELY. My study abroad experience helped me to understand more accurately the western world and perceptions of America and Americans abroad. Cassandra E - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was worthwhile, because being on my own taught me how to be more independent and rely on myself. It also broadened my horizons because I traveled to places I had never been to before. Marwah M - Wellesley College View Entire Review

Yes -- it was a program that really stretched my mind in a way that only international perspective can. Anjali P - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes, I definitely grew as a person from being more independent in a new country, interacting with people who were so different from my own college, and learning about my own major from a different angle. Zahra G - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I know that I don't want to study in England, and definitely will not go there for my Masters, but would like to work in London. Satomi G - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I love being in London for a year! It was AWESOME! There are lots of opportunities, so many attractions and the city itself is so diverse! I absolutely loved it and would study abroad all over again if I could! Also, the Study-Abroad administrator for SOAS - Sophie - was great and always helpful with everything! It was helpful for me to live abroad for a time so that I can have an awareness of cultural and continental differences. I felt it was important to study abroad so that my education would be well-rounded. Jessica S - Wellesley College View Entire Review

Yes, my program was definitely worthwhile. I gained experience in a very different academic milieu, one that I enjoyed greatly. I plan to go back to the UK to pursue further education, because I have benefited from the more open environment that prevails in its institutions. Discussions were, in my opinion, of more value because... Mannat J - Wellesley College View Entire Review

Yes. I learned a lot academically and personally through this experience. I also made wonderful friendships that I think will last a long time. I was glad that I took the chance and put myself out there to experience it. Esther I - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It has changed my world-view of global politics and American involvement drastically. I was also there during the elections, so that was fascinating to see! Claire A - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Though the classes weren't necessarily the greatest, I loved London (the museums are incredible) and the friends I made there were amazing. Ashley L - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes, completely worthwhile. It made me more relaxed about my future, not to be so stressed out. To just learn and enjoy. Amazing environment, very liberal university with students ranging from such diverse backgrounds. I feel like i matured more during this year than I have in the past three. Which is great, considering graduati... Kristina S - Wellesley College View Entire Review
