Southwest Tennessee Community College: Odense - Nursing Management in Denmark

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The people seem much happier. Some of the students say that we American stress too much and dont allow ourselves to live. The Danish for the most part eat very healthy and I was inspired to do the same and try to live life stress free

We went bowling with the Danish students. It was awkward at first but after everyone warmed up, we started to have fun

* Safety:

The city seemed very safe. Our host people said they there was very low crime there. We walked the streets at night and we felt very secure but yet a little on guard just because you are suppossed to always be aware of your surroundings no matter what

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent about 350 on personal expenses and about 100 for food and taking a taxi when we were on our own. It was very expensive to stay there so I would suggest walking and being mindful of what you buy. When you think you are just buying small items, just remember that it soon adds up. I bought water maybe three times and each bottle was 4 dollars so it adds up

I went over budget by a hundred because I used my bank card and did not convert the money well. Save all receipts to keep account of everything
