How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? | 2 weeks - 1 month |
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
For the beginner program I had fantastic teachers. My only suggestion for improvement is that I could have been pushed a little harder with homework. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Program administrators were very helpful and always available if I had any questions about the program. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
My host family was incredibly hospitable. |
* Food: |
My dietary restrictions were well accommodated by my host family. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I didn’t feel incredibly integrated with the culture but this was mainly due to my ineptitude with the Spanish language. All the more reason to keep practicing ;) |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
N/A |
* Safety: |
Granada felt incredibly safe. I had no apprehension at all wandering around the city. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
Sol had very organized administrators, well selected host famillies, and excellent teachers. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Granada was a very good place to live as a student. Most of my expenses were related to going out for tapas. If you really wanted to save here you could do it quite easily. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $85 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | If you’re going to travel outside of Granada for weekends and holidays try to find a cheap hostel in advance on Hostel World. |

How much did the program encourage you to use the language?
0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language |
