This program will give students an in depth perspective of the French, German, and Swiss cultures through history, politics,economics, and cultural lessons. Explorations within each of the countries will allow students to analyze and compare the differences between them and their global impacts as individual nations. Students will also explore how French and German culture come together in Switzerland, creating an exceptional example of multiculturalism. There are no language requirements for this program
FREN 110: Intro into French Culture introduces students to French speaking cultures with the focus on Paris and France. By the end of the course, students should have an understanding of French history, culture, people, and current economic issues.
GER 110: Intro into German Culture will introduce students to the German speaking cultures with the focus on Berlin. This course will ask and attempt to answer the questions of East and West in Berlin, Germany, and the world
