Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I thoroughly enjoyed the independence that Oxford and its tutorial system offered. Although the course layouts and teaching style were very different to that of my home university, I learnt a lot and saw great improvement in my writing and analytical skills. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
It was okay overall –– my room was big and spacious, but I found that living arrangements often varied within my building (some rooms were smaller, others were en-suite etc.). |
* Food: |
Food was great. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
There's somewhat of a divide between visiting students and non-visiting students –– my advice is to get involved with the college as soon as possible (most commonly via sports) and/or volunteer! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
N/A –– I didn't use the healthcare offered by the program. |
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
Definitely! Teddy Hall is quite small in comparison to other colleges, so I would say the visiting students often become quite close and get to know each other pretty well. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Oxford can be quite expensive. Try to eat at the dining hall as much as you can to cover your meals. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 150 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Try to cook for breakfast/lunch, visit the dining hall for dinner. |
Language
