What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Definitely worth while. It explained parts of the culture I could never understand without having been there, and gave me more confidence than before, and was just very fun.

food was excellent.

India is a fascinating country, and generally friendly and interesting if you give it a chance.

* Safety:

India has inherent risks. They were dealt with fine. I wish there was a female doctor.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? It is a great challenge, more than you are probably ready for. However, it you try to work with India, and try to understand it on its own terms, you will have a much more rewarding experience, then trying to create a small America in India or trying to understand all things on American terms.
