I took the European Union class in the Fall of 2010, and taking this trip gave me a better understanding of the European politics and its inner workings. |

One common thing we found was the Pizza. Even though some students could not read German, we found that Pizza was a common thing for everyone. Pork is a big thing in Germany, and the Turkish food is EXTREMELY delicious as well as the Italian food, but DO NOT EAT MEXICAN FOOD IN EUROPE.... |

How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
We went to the Berlin zoo on our free day and that was pretty awesome, but we saw alot of animals that were the same and we saw some that were completely different than U.S. zoo's. We also went to a German movie theater which was AWESOME!! and it was in English..:) |

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I would say I spent about 30 euros per day on food, but on some days I would spend maybe 15 euros on all three meals it just basically depends on how much you eat and spend on gifts and etc, but overall I took about 800 U.S. dollars with me. I did not use debit/credit cards in restaurants. Its best if you withdraw money from an ATM at a train station instead of taking all your money over their or only having debit/credit cards. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Organize your money is the best option like have a debit card or credit card where you can withdraw money that is primarily for food,gifts, and other unanticipated expenses, on other debit or credit card use that money for things like drinks, if you play to go out, souvenirs etc. |
