Study Abroad Programs in Argentina

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Language proficiency, new lifelong friends, good new food, interesting new culture, musicians crazy for rock, warm weather. It was worthwhile but I learned that I unfortunately will need to stay in an appartment next time.

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

I felt as if I was walking over eggshells daily with my host lady, next time I study abroad I will just get my own appartment.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I had to go out myself and make friends with locals-it worked out but I'm lucky I found trustworthy people that way. It would have been nice if there were ways to actually meet locals through the program which is kind of the point of going.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Didn't have an experience

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

If I had a kind host lady, a way to meet other locals through the program, and a trip to the beach that I paid for, then I would consider it.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
