My study abroad experience was well worth it. I didn't expect it to go so well. I met many friends, some of whom I still keep in contact with, and traveled a fair bit. Going there made me realize that traveling is something I need to make room for in my future.

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The work load was much lighter in comparison with St. Mary's. The work given was neither easier nor harder than what I am used to. Grading, though they had different letter grades, was not substantially different. The classes were much larger, however we were able to get in touch with the teacher easily and have any concerns of ours addressed. The experience over all was great, however I will say that the lighter work load made it more difficult for me to actually remember when my assignments were due. |

This program was fairly new at the time of my departure and so there were still some issues, such as getting the money to students on time, that still needed to be ironed out. Getting course equivalencies for certain classes was also a little difficult. Other than these everything went well. |

How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I met many friends and traveled with them for a bit. We saw the rain forest and visited a few sanctuaries that housed many animals native to Australia. |

Australia, especially the part where I stayed, was very safe. I never felt any fear of being out whether with friends or alone. |
