I love my host family very much and they love me as well. They are the best for showing me such kindness.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The culture is just like my culture back home, I had no problems coping with it. My tico friends also helped me a lot.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

This program was the best way for me to study a different language and I am actually planning on traveling again with Sol next summer together with my sister.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? About 50 dollars because I don't like to spend much.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Just don't buy anything you see. Because you might get it for a cheaper price elsewhere. Try to be a regular customer so that you get good deals.

Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Always try to communicate with locals especially with what you just learnt in class. Most importantly, never cease to communicate with your host families. Don't be embarrassed if you make mistakes. We all learn from our mistakes.
